What is Art anyway?  Is it really just in the "eye of the beholder"?

 

We live in a time that BS & actual propaganda have reached such levels that it may be time for a little straight talk about just what is culture? How did it develop? Did it really start in cave paintings?

 

Are we living in a world that Plato described in his Allegory of the Cave?

 

What kind of impact is the mighty 'AI' having and going to have on what we have been led to believe is ‘art’ & culture?

 

If an artist doesn’t have anything to really say and needs AI for content or technique  why does he/she even bother? Since the advent of Marcel Du Champ’s Fountain, has art become so self centered it has lost sight of the bigger picture?….Is art in danger of losing its soul?  Is "AI" going to complete the process of going 'soul free'?

 

Assuming it is a good thing, my brain does seem to veer pretty unpredictably from one topic to another and back in very short order. This site will probably reflect some of that randomness but the intent will be to keep  the ultimate focus on Western Civilization and its pursuit of the Truth through its Judeo-Christian roots.

 

I hope you like the paintings but I also hope what you see here will provoke some serious thoughts about where we are as a society (including as part of the larger global community); and just how does art fit in all that is happening? Where do 'we the people' fit in and where are we as a people headed?
